Your mistake is in not realizing that many working class people don’t have access to affordable health care. They are forced to use the ER as their primary care physician. Since they can’t pay the ER and since hospitals are required to treat emergency cases, we end up paying for their health care through high insurance premiums. That is why we have such expensive health care, and why we rank low among industrialized countries in the health of our citizens.
