Did anyone catch the “Gasoline Alley” reference in the last panel instead of the town? I always thought that GA was the name of the garage. Am I wrong?
I think the town’s name is Gasoline Alley I’veseen it used that way over the years. It’s supposed to be in a fairly mild climate. One time it was said that New York was much colder than GA in the winter. It is either a fair sized town where they might have built one of the 20s movie palaces or near a bigger town with an airport.
Greeting an entering performer with applause – usually just clapping unless it’s somebody the audience has enjoyed before – is common courtesy. How much and what kind of applause they get afterwards depends on what they earned.

I think you’re right, Skeezix! And we’re still not sure that the hypnotist is half as good as Frank Nelson!
