When my kids were little and I had to think up new meals all the time, I did a foreign country at least once a week (and it WAS just what I knew of that country (long before the NET) as I was divorced in 1975. Still, I did Spanish, Chinese, Russian, Italian etc. And Cuban was my default (my X’s country). I have always done HOME cooking for most of my life (tried some Lean Cuisine when first single- after the kids were all settled) but that was not good for budget or health. Vegetarian home made for a year got me back in shape.

Most of the food we ate in Vancouver was Asian or Italian. We did have generic sandwiches and crepes, though.
