Maybe it is just me, but it seems that these old strips had more bite to them than the newer ones. Guess like all of us, GT mellowed as he grew older. We are about the same age.

The reason I asked the question, in 1973 “Jesus Christ Superstar” opened on Broadway. Many people considered it sacrilege.

I think he is probably referring to JC Superstar, it was extremely big back then.
