Same here… When I’m absent, I always read Andy Capp too. I like to see what my family from other places are getting up to.-I hope you won’t have to wait much longer… I’m not the sort of person to tell another person to “get over it” I know how frustrating it can be.-Only Fools & Horses really is a classic sitcom. I love the theme song! Trigger is a road sweeper as it mentioned in the interview about his broom. He’s not very bright. He says fire “distinguisher” instead of “extinguisher” and “conspicious” instead of “suspicious” That’s what makes his character hilarious and unforgettable. Plus, He always called Rodney “Dave” no matter how many times somebody said “Rodney” in front of him. I miss Roger Lloyd-Pack.-Are those washing machines good? Did you read the comment I posted last week when I mentioned that I was scared of the washing machine as a kid? How silly!-Andy Capp would use a riding mower to cut the grass.-Hope your Tuesday is good too!
With some small reluctance I will make and send my very short note to corporate by turnover. You guys are a powerful draw ! Why just Saturday I got a note from Dry who yelled at me for talking the way I do. -I like the second part of that theme better. Archie Bunker was good at bending words too. Can’t recall a one at the moment, but I have seen stuff where someone consistently goofs up somebody’s name. They way they say it is what makes you laugh.-I think they are ! When I was about 7 or 8 Dad bought Mom a Kenmore washer-dryer set and they were still going when I left at 17. Can’t recall if they were the same ones when I came back 3 1/2 yrs later.-I saw that !Our other across the street neighbor, Mrs. Ellis, had one of those manual crank wash machines like what was posted. On some rare occasion I wandered over and she showed me the machine. She would have the basket of clothes outside the door ready to go on the line. Dorothy was a nice old gal. They moved into the house in 1949 when our neighborhood was new and houses were still going up. The phone for the development was a booth attached to their house. Her and Willard kept the place picture perfect. Their daughter Elaine, and Mom became very good friends and she would come over to chat and listen to Mom’s Jazz and big band records. The only thing I was scared of is when Mom said “Wait ’til your father gets home !” -Wishing you a gray, drizzly wet Wednesday ! what can i say ?
Well you’re just being yourself. I see no problem with how you talk. Dry was obviously just kidding though. -Yes the ending theme is catchy. -Trigger’s opening line is always “Alright, Dave?” or “How’s it going, Dave?” and Rodney’s face is priceless. In a clip, Rodney and his wife Cassandra are expecting a baby and everybody raises their glasses in the pub and says “To Cassandra and Rodney!” and you can JUST hear Trigger saying “Dave” at the end. -I’m glad you had a lovely neighbour! My next door neighbour works for Avon and she sometimes brings me little samples of perfume, nail varnish and jewellery. -I’m sure you think I need all the help I can get to look gorgeous don’t you? (Starting up the joke again)-Yes those words seemed popular said by parents back then. -Wednesday has not been grey, grizzly or wet! It’s been sunny and hot! Sigh.. It was grey and cool yesterday though.-Happy Wednesday to you too. Oh and welcome back!
“Page three”? Did I post a link to page three?.It’s just a woman with big bits… we’ve all seen them, tain’t no big deal. My ex wife was a big girl…. yawn.
@Number SixExtremely excellent luck!@EldoI actually read Eric Idle’s book when it came out and was just thinking the other day that I might re-read it. Kind of an odd coincidence it popping up in here……..Speaking of books, I just finished “Herblock: The Great Political Cartoonist.” For my money Oliphant is the all-time greatest, but Herblock would be right up there. It was only a library book, so I didn’t have time to check out the nearly 18,000 cartoons included on the CD………sigh.
