my brother emailed me a link for “hello, my name is inigo montoya” the other day and i’l say here what i told him. Andre the Giant’s best role ever, and a great movie.
“As you wish.”
oh, and i almost forgot. “Have fun storming the castle!”
a great kid movie with lots of bits for grownups to be amused by, just like the old Bullwinkle cartoons.
“Everybody knows who the six finger man is though.”
“Everybody?” I do not think that word means what you think it means. “Princess Bride” is a great movie, but above a certain age (and I’m above it) “Laverne and Shirley” is more resonant. Below a different age, and both are probably archaic references…

Not so sure of that. My kids (6 & 8) love the “Princess Bride” movie, as do many of their friends. Granted, they have no idea who Laverne and Shirley are…
I guess it’s just outside of my age range. Again, I know the movie and enjoy it, but most of the people I know who quote “Princess Bride” the way I quote “Holy Grail” are in their 30’s…
(Still, none of this alters the fact that David St. Hubbins and not Nigel Tufnel is the lead singer of Spinal Tap, which was my original point.)
The Princess bride book was way better than the movie and the movie is freakin awesome. I quote both this and Holy Grail with great regularity, but Balls of Fury also provides a plethora of good lines. I’m 50 so age really doesn’t matter, taste does.

I was just watching “The Princess Bride” and discovered that the lead singer of Spinal Tap was Count Rugen, the six-fingered man.

Count Rugen is the lead guitarist, but Lenny Kosnowski takes most of the vocals.

Bill thank you for this week’s comic. Love Spinal Tap, and Cleats is now one of my favorite strips

The Princess Bride may not have won any awards, but it has become a cult classic.

All 3 were good on Saturday Night Live, & most other things they’ve done.
I remember a reunion tour with Mick Fleetwood on drums.
