My favorite comment on this was from Bloom County, when the Meadow Party was looking for the right qualities for a Presidential candidate: “Someone willing to forfeit all his dignity to a bitter Presidential campaign, and risk personal and economic ruin, all so he can reach the White House and be immediately blamed for every problem in the known universe. Gentlemen – we need a complete fool."
