This one really illustrates a fundamental difference between mens’ and womens’ minds. Gina is obviously more mad that Michael doesn’t know what’s wrong than about whatever he did. This is because most women see an ideal partner as being able to automatically be in tune with her thoughts. Her anger is caused by the realization that he will never live up to her ideal. In contrast, having her understand his every thought process is usually the last thing the man wants.

men’s thoughts: sex, food, sports, Home Depot…. that’s about it. Clean and uncomplicated.

women want empathy, a listener; not “how to fix”; so we just seem like we want a mind reader. We do not.

He’s trying to fix, she wants him to just listen.

Do you know how hard it is for a man to listen? Every other sentence we want to jump up and ask, “How abouts if we—”? I am from Mars, a problem has a solution, not a feeling. If I can’t reach in my toolbox and find the solution, there’s one feeling, failure. It’s sad but true. We are different.

The bonding we all need comes in different strengths and with different applicators but in the end it is a glue job that had better FIX it fast instead of make it last.
