Andy, for once (?) you’re wrong. I’ve spent thousands on cut flowers and never wasted a penny. It’s a sorry day when there are not fresh flowers. I didn’t even ask the florist what this Valentine’s Day is going to cost.
Andy you are just using that as an excuse but then you know Flo well.
My own husband has said the same thing, but he has bought me silk roses I can keep for a long time even bought me a small white bear so I am about to have a bouquet with a teddy bear in it to look at all the time. Now to me that is sweet and last a long time.
This strip is so close to Valentine’s day. It would have been nice. So instead I wonder on Valentine’s day if it will be about Andy drinking instead of something for Flo?
Nice Andy save the money.. You can’t satisfy a woman anyway. Last Valentines day I bought my (then) live in girlfriend three live Mum plants. Told her I didn’t know what color she liked..Hee, Hee. When she got up next next morning. they were already planted in my yard…
I told my husband back in the beginning, don’t get me flowers because they die. Give me something I can keep. He’s taken that advice for the most part but every now and then he has gotten me flowers. As for Andy, it’s Flo’s money and he should only spend it on things she orders him to spend it on. If he wants to spend it his way let him earn it!
It’s so sad to see that Andy’s hopes and dreams of love and romance in his life have been dashed by the constant negativity of Flo’s attitude and actions. Wearing his cap pulled over his eyes as he passes the florist shop conceals the tears in his eyes.
With hard work, perseverance, and the help of their marriage counselor, Flo may one day be freed of her negative attitude towards marriage, and men in general. We can only wish Flo the best of luck in trying to eliminate the hostile state of mind instilled in her throughout childhood, by a bitter and resentful parent.
Good luck Flo! And of course, good luck to you Andy!
What is this obsession in “give me something”? Valentine’s day celebrates love, not commercialism. My husband and I don’t exchange gifts on valentine’s day. A card is more than enough to express how we feel about each other. A kiss is better and we don’t feel we need to “earn” it with a gift.
I’d be surprised if the flower that says “I Love You” according to Andy was the kind Flo is allergic to. That would be pretty dumb of him to forget that.
DOC TOON Back when I drank I could not be bothered with a flower that would die tomorrow..
Now I am thrilled to bring her something that is almost as beautiful as her, TODAY. Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a prophesy.. Today we can enjoy a flower.

Well, Andy, you usually have a sneaky reason and you are usually up to something bad when you do something nice!

Actually, Andy, Flo’s reaction would be more along the lines of, “All right, who are you, and what have you done with my husband?”

Why buy when you can get them for nothing at the nearest cemetary?

It’s the thought that counts and Andy thought about it.
