So they built that bridge. No wonder it looks like it does!

Love the vernacular! I was raised on Gasoline Alley and Pogo, as well as Andy Griffith and the Beverly Hillbillies.

Always totally predictable, but still fun to read.

Isn’t Yes’m a contraction for yes ma’am, which itself is a contraction of madame. Can you even legally contract a contraction?

Standing alone, today’s strip is very funny, but the storyline has been stretched pretty thin. Isn’t it supposed to be about helping a sick child get his wish? Maybe we can look forward to Rufus’ cats’ interaction with the boy’s annoying parrot.

Some years back, it was after Phyllis died, a relative came to care for Uncle Walt. She was a young, attractive woman with a group of unsavory companions. Neighbors called the police after a wild party was held. Which of the Wallet family was this girl the daughter or granddaughter of? Can anyone help me out here?

Personally, I think the butter has slipped off both their biskits.

ssledge, Walt’s first caregiver post-Phyllis was his granddaughter Eve. She is the daughter of Hope & Corky Walker and the twin sister of their son Adam. Nubbin is her older brother. Eve has biker friends who invaded Walt’s home and got hauled off to jail for running a noisy drunken party.

Hope & Corky Wallet, not Walker.

The storyline ran June-August 2004. It ends with one of Eve’s female friends dancing in the buff on Walt’s lawn, and the whole crew (including poor Walt) being dragged off to jail. See http://www.gocomics.com/gasolinealley/2004/06/25#.U9r_1tm9LCQ
