That’s my attitude when the Caller ID gives me a city name instead of the name of the caller. If they’re someone who really needs to get ahold of me, they can leave a message on my answering machine.

I live in a different state than my phone number’s area code signifies. So I get a LOT of “junk” phone calls from my old state due to the area code. I only answer calls if someone is in my address book. Otherwise, they can text or leave a message.

The great thing about caller ID…helping you to know which calls are important and worth your time!

It could have been Nathan Detroit wanting to wish you luck with your lady tonight.

Hi Guys & Dolls… Maybe it’s Nathan Detroit calling about where the “..the oldest established, permanent floating, [dice] game in New York” is being held!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ka_cJolZeuE

Caller ID was the best invention. RING Me: “It’s your mother!” Wife: “ANSWER it!” Me: “I don’t want to talk to your mother!”

There is a huge segment of the population that feel compelled to answer the phone. Otherwise, robo calls would not be a thing.

I don’t answer calls from numbers I don’t know. My CID box is old so it displays number, time, date, and text which usually comes up blank, so I know the caller is a fraud. Some numbers come with business names, but they are from the same prefix. One time I answered one of them and found it was from some outfit wanting to sell me a step in tub. The name on caller ID was from an accounting firm. So, I no longer answer anything if I don’t know who it is. Of course, I have one land line phone at my computer, but I am rarely there, and when I am elsewhere in the house, I don’t hear it ring.

I keep a log of all the calls I get just in case someday our do nothing Congress decides to crack down on these callers. 95% of all calls I get are bogus.

Yes, trolls, I do have a smart phone as well with so many worthless apps I don’t use that I can’t remove. That’s why I love Windows. I can remove just about anything I want to. There is too much garbage on the cell phone.

Maybe it’s a typo and the name is actually “Detorie”, not “Detroit”.
