I hope it’s “A Thousand Steps” not “A Thousand Miles”

I got two flats on my bike coming back from the gym the other day – does that count?

When I was at the other end of life — the young-and-poor end — we had a car, a British Ford Hunter, an emergency purchase, that was so bad the fuel filter would clog on occasion and I’d have to get out and blow into the fuel line. Sure glad I don’t have the car now!

s73m. I’m still not used to ‘95 being an “old truck”! 1950 to 1965 is “old”. After that, it’s just “used”.

A broken hose is a symptom. Check also for broken engine mounts, clogged radiator or heater core from using defective antifreeze and/or high mineral water, broken thermostat, bad ignition timing, slipping transmission, or a warped head/head gasket failure.

I was taught to rent a car when I take a trip over 500 miles. Less wear and tear on my car and if there’s a major problem, the rental company can deal with it.

With the luggage in the bed of the trunk, all he needs now is a good rainstorm to make his journey complete.
