Luann does not do the college mixers. Years past, at a kegger, I asked a coed what degree she wanted at university. She bluntly said “Mrs”. I nearly choked on my beer.

Though Tiffany does focus on her dreams, Rememer- success, like so many other things , is all relative! And not measured by how bright the lights are on the marquee, in the end!

Ah, yes! Is this what the future holds? The professional woman (Tiffany) and the housewife (Luann).

Luann and Tiffany are really two peas in the same pod, more alike than they want to realize, more of friends than they’d like to admit… – As I related to you, before, Luann and Tiffany are muich like Holmes and Moriarty. They are tied to each other, the difference being their two different perspectives. But they both strive to be noticed, both strive to be loved, both are “specks” on the “giant radar”, but hoping to “find their way”. Their methods are different (one thinks she’s a “star in the making”, but just as fallible as any other person and one thinks she’s “just a lump”, but has yet to see herself as more), but they can both be able to be successful and can both “find their way”….

Of course, at the pace this strip goes at, we won’t see the post-college life of either Luann or Tiffany for many years to come! The same goes for Bernice and Delta too. What is the approximate ratio of one year in “our” world compared to Luann’s time-space continuum?

“In the second panel, Tiff’s word balloon is coming from a group of stars. Kind of like some of the characters in Doonesbury. Perhaps Greg is thinking of replacing Tiff’s character with the star group.” ^Or the “talking helmet” (in view of how some perceive her hair)…

I can’t wait to see the next installment of “Gunther’s Peruvian Expedition.”

Also, I am waiting to see what sort of events transpire at the time of Brad & Toni’s wedding. Hopefully, TJ, Jonah Daytona and Shannon will be intertwined in the situations surrounding the ceremony!

Trophy wife is a pretty good job if you can land it and the retirement (settlement) can be fantastic.

So Luann, who is happy to go to community college because she will be able to spend more time with Quill, who had an entire strip reminding Tiffany she has a boyfriend and Tiffany doesn’t, who threw a hissy fit because she didn’t think Quill spent enough time with her, is suddenly pulling you’re just going to be a lonely housewife?

the main difference is that Tiff main thing is getting the fame she thinks is due but her talent is not that high, while Luann main thing is that she loves acting(and other things) and she would love the fame but she thinks she has not earned it even thought her talent is much greater than she thinks

Interesting idea (at least to me): As many have suggested, Luann’s interests and goals often seem minimal to none… or are couched in whatever her potential or current boyfriend pursues (aka Quill & acting). But, if you were to select a career that you think Luann WOULD BE WELL SUITED for, what would it be and why? +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++My Option A: Luann seems like she would potentially be a good to very good elementary school teacher. Her interaction with the kids this week suggests that could be a successful path for her. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++My Option B: Artist. I am not sure which media, but probably painting or perhaps photography. She seems to be a very good observer, and could likely muster enough creativity to do well at art.+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++Both of the above ideas (and in fact any career idea for her) do require Luann to actually get INTERESTED in pursuing something for a career, however. That interest has never really happened yet.

I would say that Luann’s best bet is to follow in her mother’s footsteps and become a homemaker, but we know what a total disaster that would be, since we’ve seen her room.

Many prominent actors have a lot of terrible movies on their resumes, when they’re starting out. The important thing is to have a resume, and to use the experience to become a good actor. Michael Caine has been in more movies than almost anyone, and lots of them are really bad, but he justifies taking the roles by saying that he’s an actor, and actors act. You can always learn something from being in even a bad movie.

I just realized: Quill is actually a trophy boyfriend!-1. Even though Tiff no longer wanted him, Luann yelled “Quill is mine!” at her that one time!2. That means Luann sees Quill as a prize she has won, so he’s a trophy!3. Annnnd, Quill is actually only a consolation prize for Aaron Hill!!!-In other news, Luann believes trophy wives are lonely. Why? They look happy enough to me. This must be some stuffy old Greg Evans worldview.

Caldonia, I disagree with you. Quill and Luann do have a connection and that is that both are not plastic. Just like her brother and Tony. Aaron was teen age crush, first infatuation. I had plenty myself. Now, I see a lot of my older school mates- widowers and divorced with trophy wives. They are lost souls when there are reunions.

Tiffany, if nothing else, is focused, has the looks, blatant sexuality, and self confidence. She could willingly be a lingerie model, turn letters on a TV game show, work at Victoria’s Secret, or sell cologne to gullible men taken in by her hotness. But to get a screen role, I’m afraid she would have to do some couch casting.

As an Angeleno, I can tell you we get hundreds (probably thousands) of people who have no experience in acting or the industry who come out here to be discovered. If Tiff becomes a trophy wife, she’ll be a lot better off than a lot of hopefuls, who end up working in a different industry.

Why do so many commenters say Tiffany has no acting talent? How do they know that???
