I’ve used Earl’s pumpkin pie guideline for years. The same system also applies when putting whipped cream on a bowl of strawberries, sour cream on a baked potato, and blue cheese dressing on a salad …
@Reverend Ike“blue cheese dressing on a salad …”.I do love blue cheese dressing.I had some salad with blue cheese sprinkled on it at Burger King a couple of weeks back. The lady who brought it to me looked at it disgustedly,“That looks like mold in it.”“It IS mold. I don’t know how you could tell if it ever went bad since it’s already moldy.”Then she looked even more grossed out.
i cast my vote for EARL – i like pumpkin pie, ever since i was a kid. but i LOVE pumpkin pie and whip cream if you can theoretically love pumpkin pie and whip cream :)
But Earl is holding the can all wrong there, see? If you hold it horizontal, too much propellant is released and you end up with cream still in the can but you can’t get it out. Proper usage is to shake the can a couple times and then hold it as vertical as possible for maximum application. Then, yum!

I had to laugh because that’s just what I do. No such thing as too much whipped cream.
