Many ladies consider a gentleman starting the lawn mower for them quite romantic, much like holding a door open, or pulling the chair out for them in a restaurant.
Flo does not seem to have a romantic bone in her body. Andy is always the one that takes the initiative to keep that old flame burning.
Perhaps a visit to a sex therapist would help Flo.
Andy got off his arse and pulled on the mower cord? Bravo lad. I hope your beer didn’t go flat or you didn’t lose place of what horse you were going to bet Flo’s hard earned money on. Now that you got the mower going, I hope she appreciates your romantic gesture and mows the lawn, including the edging. Perhaps the pub would be a good place to recover from your exertions.

Just so you men know, there is no blanket moratorium on the romantic-ness of motorized contraptions. Starting the lawnmower may not be a romantic gesture, but starting the car on an icy morning sure is.
Knowing how irksome my pull-start mower is at times, I’d consider it a nice and sweet gesture….add the man doing the mowing for me and now we’re getting closer to romantic gesture.
Please, Andy will never change. Neither will Flo. I still miss the knock down drag outs they used to engage themselves in. Seemed more like a couple from a poor part of town back in the day.

It would be much more romantic if Andy actually mowed the lawn for her. I think that is her point.
From some men, starting the mower would be romantic, if they did their fair share of work around the house too.
