In my younger days if I saw someone with their hat on backwards and their pants down so low to show their rear I would have thought that person to be mentally deficient. I can’t say it shows an overabundance of intellect today.
My son learned his lesson on backwards caps. A sunburned face and nose will do that. And yes, my son was ten when he got his first USAF survival knife. We have become a wussified version of ourself.
Except for boot camp I’ve carried a pocket knife for the last 60+ years?!started in elementary school. Today that would get a kid kicked out of school, knife confiscated and, possibly, parents arrested.

I carried a Boy Scout pocket knife in the 50s and 60s, a Swiss army knife in the 70s and 80s. It’s been a Leatherman ever since.

Pretty sound advice; except for today, the kid will be holding a dang iPhone instead of a block of wood!
