After awhile, many become experts at bumbling along without a clue.

It’s what most people do, Calvin. Bumble along without a clue and worry about what other people think of them.

A best friend, pulling you out from every missfortune, you can love, hold and smooch, is important!

Bumbling along with out a clue is the main aim in life otherwise why would nature establish a system that culminates in most of us being permanently in this state.

In the 3rd and 4th panels, Calvin’s hair looks like the inspiration for the Lio comic strip. Here is a case where Lio didn’t notice some small things, and they had created a big thing that he was unprepared for. (Or, for Puddleglum: “… for which he was unprepared.”)Click here: Lio (July 26, 2011)

Thanks, LeadingEdge. I periodically take a sabbatical to have more time to pay attention to the small stuff and to prepare better for the big stuff, rather than simply bumbling along without a clue. It helps to keep life from careening downhill out of control. But……. never mind that……. Back to today’s Calvin and Hobbes.

Little kids always notice the small stuff. In fact, it’s all they notice. Literally everything is new, so literally everything is fascinating. They’re short, close to the ground, and sharp-eyed so they see the small stuff that escapes the notice of most adults. That’s why they can spend 10 minutes staring at a blade of grass, or an hour watching an ant go about its business. Besides, the big stuff is overwhelming for them. Better to try to make sense of the small stuff, then work your way up.

Oh, and welcome back Hobbes. Someone had suggested/observed that you take a break from the comics for Lent, and would return after Easter, and by golly here you are.

Fresh breath and dry armpits. In this day and age, that and five bucks will buy you a cup of coffee at Starbucks.

I always felt fresh breath and dry armpits were important! Of course, if we are using advertising to gauge important choices in life, we might be in trouble!.Wait, what? You just watched a commercial for a new weight loss product, and you need to order right now as supplies are limited?.We’re doomed…

“Bumbling Along Without a Clue” is a critical precursor to “Survival by Improvisation Life Skills”. The alternate courses are “Deer in the Snowplow’s Headlights” and ’Forest Gumping Through Life".
