TV: Now for the extended forecast. Monday will be chilly with highs in the 50s. Followed by two days of global warming. And then Thursday dips back in the 50s...
Yet someone else fails to understand the difference between ‘weather’ and ‘climate’. Climate is the overall trend, weather being the conditions on a day-to-day basis.
Here’s an analogy that might work. Surely, 10,000 people will listen to Rush Limbaugh tomorrow. But can you give me a list of 10,000 people who will?
Being able to predict that 10,000 people will listen to Rush is predicting climate. Being able to name the individuals who will listen is predicting weather.
Confirmation bias. You got a nice white dress and a party on your confirmation! You’ve got a brand new soul.Mmm, and a cross of gold. But Virginia they didn’t give you quite enough information! You didn’t count on me- When you were counting on your rosary. @Proginoskes — Yet this is scarcely an exaggeration of the sort of crap we hear on the news. It happened with Hurricane Katrina, it happened with Hurricane Sandy, and it happens with every big winter storm. You can choose to read this as Glenn McCoy mocking the science of climate change, or you can choose to read it as him mocking the sensationalism that is so often mistaken for science.
All the climate change people want is to seperate you from your money. Please check weather statistics over the last 100 years. They show no real change in the temperature of the planet but since that doesn’t fit their agenda they only count the last 30 years which happen to include the coldest decade in recorded history the late 70’s and early 80’s. Most temp records that are being broken on either side hot or cold. were recorded in the late 19th or early 20th century.. Can we say cycle.
How much weather does it take to become climate? I’m still waiting for an answer. As near as I can tell, when the temperature rises, it’s climate change; when it falls, it’s weather.

Just call me 2 days before the oceans start rising so I have time to pack and move inland.
