Ralph: Wally! Did you get into the kitchen trash? Wally: No. Ralph: Bad dog! Wally: Don't yell at me! I didn't do it! Why does the dog always get blamed for everything? Anytime something goes wrong around the house, everyone assumes it's the dog's fault! I'm just a convenient fall guy! It's not fair and I won't stand for it anymore! Ralph: And you also got into the bathroom trash?!! Wally: OK, that was me!

Poor Wally! Rest assured, cats — yes, cats! — can do this too! I have two Persian cats, Andy and Dougy, who both knock over wastepaper baskets, oftentimes right in front of me. (They also sniff each other’s butts and scoot their butts on the carpet, other behaviors blamed on dogs. Did I mention they are pedigree cats?! Go figure.)
