Remember that pile of kibble resembling Devil’s Tower? – A sign of super-basset strength to not wolf it down before shooting that scene… Well, they had to replace it. Several times. The costs were enormous.
Ah yes. Steve Spielbasset directed Richard Dry-fur and Francois Ruff-o in this cosmic kibble adventure, Good to see Rotty Tailwagger get his endorsement on the poster.

I know I hate it when someone infringes on MY “no talk” time……….

she’s right. her talking time is when Roger is engrossed in a good movie–and NOTHING will be able to shut her up!

I’ve had some of those close basset encounters. They tend to make you jump, squirm, and turn around to say, “Stop That!”

But she talks non-stop the rest of the time – particularly during his favorite tv show.

Do you remember when cartoonisters used to draw cartoons, and commenters used to comment on cartoons, and that was all there was to it?
It’s a mixed up, jumbled up, topsy turvy, cray cray (as the young people would say) world we live in today.
But, seriously, thank you @StillTheBelle. Who doesn’t love seeing their nom de gocomics in the bright lights of Euclid Avenue?
Xoxoxo

Hullo all…. you’ve found the spot…
the place we’re commenting, that is, on the
May 19th 2020 “CLEO and COMPANY” on Sherpa.
Another great poster from StelBel!
Seems like they’re using it now on the DVD release….
it’s a great movie to own, cos It can be watched over and over.
I haven’t seen it in a few years and I’m ready again… there’s always some detail I’ve forgotten, or I missed the first time… or the 7th.
Richie Dry-fur was fairly unknown… now you can compare this with his later roles… and what has happened to Milindy Dilbone? Things like that.
I always felt sorry for Teri Grrr, as Dry-fur’s mate… her character pretty much gets abandoned.
I hope she and the pups didn’t end up in the pound!
I still wonder what kind of bone these aliens wanted….
They seemed quite friendly, and you cheered as Dry-fur’s character, Royboy, went happily off into space with them, tail wagging…
so I hope it was a chew-bone…. or a Milkbone… and nothing canine or human!

Don’t go into the light Little Basset!!! Be very very careful, especially when you hear those 5 notes!
We’ve been up to Devil’s Tower several times. And dabnabbit, not once did we hear the music or see the mother ship. Maybe next time.
