The golf course l played in my youth had a creek(affected play on five holes and a pound also on one of the holes that ran next to the creek. I invariably found the creek at least once and the pond on every round I played. On courses since, I haven’t had as much problem with water.
Generally speaking, you do not play a ball that landed in a water hazard from the hazard. You can drop the ball behind the hazard, take a one stroke penalty, and continue play.
Of course, this is just a comic, so anything is possible…
