As kids, we used to dive in the water hazards for balls. We’d sell them for 10 cents. We could make $5-10 a weekend! Mind you now, this was in the late 50’s, early 60’s. Plenty enough for a couple kids to go to the movies, get our snacks, and still have some for a pop or ice cream another time. “Wonder Years” had nothin’ on us!!!
Best use of the term ever: Paul Harvey once reported that Davis Love III had won the Players Championship over the weekend. He went on to note that Love and his wife had divorced, but had decided to try again. Asked about the reunification by Golf Magazine, Mrs. Love replied, “We took a mulligan.”
