I hate this comic. It reminds me of my dog Shadow. She was only 12 years old and died of bone cancer. Acted like a puppy until the end. She would climb in your lap for a petting, all 110 lbs of her. I love this comic, it reminds me of her.
WoodEye and D. W., you two need Like buttons! I’ve also lost furry friends to cancer. Sometimes I smile when I come across one of their toys or a patch of fur that used to belong to them.
My Chewy (there she is on the left, pretending to be an albino bat) left us in April. I think she’s in that Happy Hunting Ground in the Sky, running around with all her predecessors.
THE RAINBOW BRIDGEThere is a bridge connecting Heaven and Earth. It is called the Rainbow Bridge because of its many colors. Just this side of the Rainbow Bridge, there is a land of meadows, hills and valleys with lush green grass.
. When a beloved pet dies, the pet goes to this place. There is always food and water, and warm Spring weather. Those old and frail animals are young again. Those who have been maimed are made whole again. They play all day with each other.. But there is only one thing missing. They are not with their special person who loved them on earth. So, each day they run and play until the day comes when one suddenly stops playing and looks up. The nose twitches, the ears are up, the eyes are staring, and this one suddenly runs from the group. You have been seen, and when you and your special friend meet, you take him or her in your arms and embrace. Your face is kissed again and again and again and you look once more into the eyes of your trusting pet.
Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together, never again to be separated.
Don’t forget to shed a tear or two for the kitties no longer with their families. Lost my precious girl (my avatar) to a painful blood clot a year ago the 30th of this month. She was my only pet. I have not gotten another. My heart is still too broken
Remember that you were responsable for your friend living a long life. The best way to celebrate that long life is to go pick another best friend. he/she would not want you to be lonely.

Someone needs a trip to the shelter to fill the doghouse.

I lost my Lucky on the 4th of July. It was sudden. She had a tumor on her heart that hemorrhaged.

No matter what the cause… our furry ones are ALWAYS taken too soon.

Adrian has so much empathy with animals, and with all animal-lovers. Thank you for publishing what we all feel.
