Because it is nasty tasting. Too pipe-ish tasting. Also, for those of us who spend time outdoors, bottled water is portable! Especially when sweating buckets! PS, Grey, how about purchasing 24 packs when they go on sale! Much easier to handle!

A reverse osmosis kit costs around $150 or less on Amazon. Not to hard to install, and it filters the water just as well as bottled water, if not better. For that one investment you have hundreds of gallons of water that you put in your reusable water bottles. My wife and I have had this filter for nearly two years and have saved plenty while enjoying fresh clean water.http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_1?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=reverse+osmosis+water+filtration+system

A Brita pitcher works well, too, albeit on a smaller scale.

you know my family does not even taste the difference. I bought the britta pitcher about a month ago and I took out the filter. been filling it up with tap water and no body knows the difference.

Because it’s hurricane season and you need to keep bottled water on hand, along with canned and non-perishable foods.

Most bottled water is just filtered tap water. Reverse osmosis works OK but it wastes a lot of water in the process.
