Han Solo’s Kessel run boast is valid when you consider the astrogation necessary to complete it. Because of gravitational obstacles, the biggest of which is a massive black hole cluster, the ideal path cannot be a straight line and must be plotted with extreme care. Add to that the relativistic distance contraction achieved from skimming numerous even horizons, and you can shorten the trip even more – though definitely at great peril to your ship and its passengers. There’s no shame in retcon when it’s well-written. Speaking of distance contraction, you could theoretically run a marathon in 4 miles, but you would have to travel 296,278,000 m/s, or nearly 99% the speed of light. Better have a really good warm-up routine.

Not so much a Marathon as a Kessel Run

Sort of like Han Solo crossing the galaxy in only three parsecs.
