It is unpatriotic to complain about the price of things. The vast wealth consumed by the government is far greater than the wealth of its citizenry, even the richest 0.01%.It is this government drain of wealth that creates the inflationary cycle that causes rising prices. All of the wealth of the rich would not fund government spending for a year.If you are struggling to keep up with rising prices, be proud that your government is keeping the economy going in the only direction it considers forward, the decrease of private wealth and the increase of public wealth.
As long as you blame the wealthy capitalist industrialist oligarchy rather than the actual rat hole down which the common wealth disappears, you are okay in the context of socially acceptable disenchantment.
Had a couple of family friends who argued whether to buy pre-baited mousetraps, or baitless ones. They were both millionaires, and decided to buy the unbated traps to save 18 cents, then baited the traps with $35 a pound cheese.
Prices increase btw in capitalist economics to make sure there’s always profit, the more, the better, until you wipe out the market, which won’t happen with fossil fuels.

My wife of 38 years and I are already there. I can remember when gasoline was $0.25 a gallon!

But you can complain about the price of everything right now – why wait?
