Sadly, a better description for the “Greens” these days, would be the “Watermelons.” (Green outside Red inside.) Every proposal they have simply allocates ever more money and control to the Government. (Which usually was involved in the CREATION of the problem in the first place.)
Plant more trees.I did.Actually, unless you kill them, trees take over. Many can’t see my house for the trees. As a result, they usually rob somebody else who they CAN see.
Everything seems to require a use. If nice sunsets could be copyrighted, that would happen. It will only get worse as human urban populations increase.. I used to drive a shuttle bus from the train station to our local university. It’s way south of a big city and was largely “undeveloped.” City people coming here somehow felt squeamish, and a common comment was, “There’s nothing out here!” Nothing but thousands of acres of farms, small family estates, and wild fields with native plants and animals, that is.. Well, not to worry. Thousands of those acres have since been bought for an airport no one wants to build. When it does get built, city people should then be comfortable with the concrete and noise and congestion. Me, I’ll miss the meadowlarks most of all.
“Federal” government is the problem. Governments do only three things competently: (1) kill people, (2) steal private wealth, (3) diminish freedom. All of those things need to be done within limits – think of Radical Muslims or International Communism – but government is ever expanding on all three fronts.
Solution is simple: (1) Follow the intent of the 7th Amendment – prohibit fines in excess of $25 unless there is a court adjudication, with jury option. (2) Follow the intent of the 10th Amendment and allow each state, on behalf of its citizenry including corporate citizenry, to opt out of any Federal law or regulation. (3) Limit the jurisdiction of those Federal courts created by Congress. Specifically abolish the right of a Federal judge to limit or abolish any state law; only the Supreme Court should have such power.

Better to make those speeches standing on big piles of newspapers.

I’d prefer a government that protects citizens from corporations. It has actually happened at times.
