In my house flies are the dreaded enemy. My boy spent two hours trying to catch one last night and he was getting furious about it. He finally caught the fly and fell immediately fell asleep exhausted.
My 4-year molly catches everything, grasshoppers, mice, little lizards, cockroaches and goes withoout saying she comes to me with her prey, to get a “reward” for her hunting abilities, or maybe to bring me a “treat”, for the master!
Last night our 22 lb tom decided to ‘thump’ the night away downstairs after we’d gone to bed. I guessed he’d found some new plaything or other and resigned myself to cleaning up the mess later, too sleepy to get up. This morning he presented me with his trophy. One bedraggled and still alive(!) field mouse.I don’t know which disturbs me more, that he managed to keep his “toy” alive for at least 6 hours, or that I stepped on the poor thing while leaving the bedroom….

Moths, Squirrels, Birds, (things that move) are fair game to my four legged friends. Good to see Sophie can catch Dad with the same ease.
