She’s got awfully high hopes if she really thinks it’s going to happen “sooner than pronto”! As DNTME was saying last night, the whole process is going to be “drug out” as much as the warden can do that.
Ok, as Rufus’ bossy mom continues to argue and fuss with the belligerent warden, it does indeed seem that there could be a potential “spark” of sorts between them. I doubt the warden gets many folks talking back to him like mom does. But, mom, before you potentially begin to “swoon” over the warden, keep steadfast on the important mission…. from your perspective, it is of course, to get Rufus sprung from the pen. But, also keep in mind our hero, Joel, the sage, and utterly innocent fellow who is also imprisoned. It is my fervent hope that this horrific experience does not scar our hero’s psyche, and that he can recover and return to his old self when eventually he is released from this nightmare. If our gentleman/scholar Joel does suffer any permanent mental anguish due to his unjust incarceration… it will truly be a sad, sad outcome for Gasoline Alley. It is my fervent hope that when Joel is sprung, and he gets his pipe back and gets his jug, he will be the same wonderful fellow he has always been.Gadds…. a horrific thought just occurred to me… what if Joel’s beloved pipe is somehow lost or damaged while it has been unjustly confiscated and stored in the storage/evidence room? I had not thought of that before. :(

Although I’ve heard it a million times, I can’t recall seeing that word in print before, so I looked it up and learned that it is spelled “galoot”.
