My dachshund sometimes goes into what we call ‘psychodog" mode where she’s afraid to walk on the hardwood or tile floors. At first we thought it might be painful for her of something but the vet says no, it’s a fairly common thing. And she has no problem with the hardwood or tile if you ask ‘who wants to go for a walk’. Still, our house has a lot of ‘runner’ type carpets so she can get to her favorite places like bed, food bowl, etc.
And no matter where she is, when she hears the theme music for Wheel of Fortune she makes a straight line to the couch to sit next to me and watch the show.

To both my Bostons, sit means back up until you hit carpet then squat for snackies.
