Teddy Roosevelt is hardly a hero to today’s Republicans. He was anti-monopoly and championed protection of the environment.

We all need to remember that we brought this upon ourselves.

Any republican would be less destructive than any democrat. Any conservative would be less destructive than any moderate. Fear we will get another one who thinks we need bureaucrats to run our lives.

It’s not TR’s party any more. (Although in fairness, it wasn’t then — he was put into the vice-presidency to take advantage of his popularity AND to get him out of the way, behind the pro-business McKinley.)

Teddy was already President when he ran for office (elected VP, became President after McKinley’s death).The one time he ran for President outside of office, he split the GOP vote and gifted the Presidency to Wilson

On Carson, did you ever know someone in med school or during his/her residency? They know how to make decisions under pressure, and stand by them. Then they spend their career doing just that. And as an added bonus, a kids’ doctor knows how to deal with heartache. If he’s out of his league, it’s cuz his 44 predecessors were in the minors.

Even if he knows nothing about how government works. But as a republican, of course it shouldn’t work at all. Let the Koch brothers run it.
