Danae: Hmm...what's this?
Kate: Not sure.
Danae: There's an on-off switch here.
Kate: Flip it and see what it does.
SQUEEEEEEEE BLOOP BLOOP
Danae: GUESS WHAT I FOUND!
Ned: Why do I hold on to things I don't use anymore?
einarbt, for some reason I get a warm feeling inside knowing that Kate is right there with Danae in this caper….Kate has a little streak of Danae in her….They are sisters after all….And she can be sneaky…I’m 62, my advice is to watch out for the “good” girls….They can surprise you……
Maybe Danae will fix the bullhorn to the top of a vehicle and drive the vehicle about town spreading her message. Kind of like used to happen in the 60’s when political supporters did that to urge one to vote for their candidate. Also on the vehicle was the candidates name. Just in case you couldn’t understand what was coming the speaker.
I have two buildings full of stuff. Wife says, “Get rid of some of that stuff; you can’t take it with you.” I say, “That’s my STUFF. If I can’t take it with me, I ain’t going!” That’s my plan, anyway.
As for public disclosure…Like others here, I am due a trip to Good Will, but always give a lot of thought to what I’m taking before I do. And, yeah there are some things I keep out of purely sentimental reasons.
I think we all have a hoarding gene that goes back to our hunter-gatherer days.
Women, I think, save things for sentimental reasons ie. the kid’s first tooth; a piece of wedding cake, a photograph etc.
A guy saves things he thinks are practicable, ie. hardware, comfortable clothes, even a broken lawnmower or junk car that he’s going to get around to fixing ( one of these days ).
The acid test for a true hoarder is having to move to another location.
What would you save and what would you finally discard ?

My wife hates for doing this. But I can’t help it: you never know if you’re going to need that thing again.
