In someone else’s picture, we’re always in the background – and “someone else” outnumbers us by six billion to one.

In the Really Big Picture, we’re all in the background.

Humbling, sobering wisdom this early in the morning…have mercy.

And sadly, when people realize that they’re in the background, that explains a pair of fingers sticking out of someone else’s head.

Really? The punchline is “bat depends”?! Nighthawks and Stel Bel – go to your respective rooms and think about what you have done. You can come out when you have decided you’re ready to rejoin civilized society.

I wouldn’t be quite as hard as LLMcC, there is some good art in this one, but I would not be surprised if that lead pun broke their rope.

I had high hopes when they started climbing – like the cameo appearance of some celebrity (Susan Sunshine comes to mind), sticking her head out of a window and chatting away with her fellow nightly heroes… wearing a mask, too, of course…

So many possibilities. No; this one’s a bat strip.

    Holy Caped Crusaders, fellow BatFans!

BatBasset and Sparrow “climb to new heights” all right…

While simultaneously sinking to new lows!

That’s in the July 17h  2020 “CLEO and COMPANY.” on Sherpa.

I really really hate to point this out…. honestly, I do….

but … um…. on the “title page”… Sparrow’s trunks are green.

When he’s scaling the skyscraper wall…

    they’re yellow.

    Holy TMI, Nighthawks!

    Urine trouble now!

Is it for you that the BatSignal is lighting up the night sky?

All jokes aside… OK, maybe not all jokes…. I hate making promises I can’t keep…

    But most jokes aside….

    It’s a great-looking strip.

Well drawn, with smooth animation, and beautiful colors.

    Nice work, you guys.

    I love BatBasset and Sparrow…

I’ve been wanting to see more since their first appearance, on that comic book cover … (which IMHO you ought to re-run, BTW.)

    Thanks, Tigressy, but I’m hardly a “celebrity”…

though of course I’d love to meet these brave superheroes.

Maybe I could give them a scratch behind their ears… “Who’s a good batdog?"

That building is so tall it doesn’t fit on my little laptop screen….

I have to shrink it…. or scroll my way up, just like BatBasset and Sparrow.

GOOD MORNING, BALLARDEERS! 47,330,126 days since this carp started. Can’t even sit in the yard without sweating.

Heat indices of up to and possibly over 110F over the weekend. Ooooh boy howdy. But it’s a wet heat.

Love the old timey Batbasset. No padded suit for this puppy. No sir. Just the natural treat padding under that suit.

Y’all be safe out there. Not being able to breathe normally sux (insert inappropriate word here).

    TGIF MEGA (((((HUGS!)))))

We now know why Batbassett will be soaking wet by the time they get to the window where Susan Sunshine will open it and talk to them about the fixing of Sherpa.
