    Honestly, Old Man River, it’s NOT to single you out…but we just hear that waaay too often…

    I love Pearls Before Swine…. and I admit Stephan Pastis is a master of the art of punnery….

    but wordplay been around for millennia.

    I was making puns before Pastis was in diapers!

    Comedians and comic strips and even my great-uncle Milt were eliciting groans with them long before that.

    Whiteheron…and anybody who read my previous post.

    There were more…. but you get the idea. I don’t think any pun is truly new any more.I make one up, then find a cartoon that already used it 5 years ago…..

    That happens to cartoonists too, and I’ve seen overzealous commenters start accusing them of plagiarism.Funny when they’re supposed to have copied from a totally obscure webcomic or Sherpa strip.
