So true. It’s the refractive index of the liquid in the bottle, along with the curvature of the surface of the bottle, serving as a convex, lens that start the campfire when used to concentrate sunlight into a beam sufficiently intense to cause spontaneous combustion of materials out-gassed from heated tinder. As Mae West always stipulated, if you have the proper curvature, you can do just about anything.
Suggested listening:Blue Oyster Cult – Fire of Unknown Origin. Some tracks on the album were specifically crafted for use on the Heavy Metal soundtrack, but were never included. Only Veterans of the Psychic Wars was included on the soundtrack.

You can use a bottle to focus sunlight onto tinder to start a fire. It’s true that glass by itself is not campfire fuel.
