Katy: Is that my silly putty? Adam: What? Oh. Yeah. I was using it as a stress ball. I was all worked up over this job. Katy: Well, have you de-stressed? I have putty needs. Adam: Like what? Katy: The usual. Stretching...bouncing...general frivolity. Adam: Well, they should market it for anxiety. It's very therapeutic. Katy: Mom! Dad de-sill'd my putty! Adam: Give it a few stretches. It'll silly right back up.

Mom sometimes got me some, but I never really figured out why I’d want it.

No need for silly putty unless you get the Sunday funnies.

Funny thing is, they do market variations of silly putty like that, with different levels of firmness depending on what you need. I think it’s called Thera Putty or something like that.
For me, the pliability always worked better than a stress ball. It’s also good for physical therapy for recovering from hand or wrist injuries. Or just building up grip strength.

There’s a way to make a homemade stress ball by putting play doh in a sandwich bag than putting that inside a balloon with the tip cut off. Works great!
