I was going to say “imperfect circle” and then I realised by definition there is no such thing. A thing is either a circle or is not.

It was found out that they were ellipses.

An imperfect circle is one where the value of pi is greater than 3.15. Instead of pi, I should say circumference to diameter ratio.
