Many years ago some character glued some antelope horns and sometimes deer antlers to a stuffed and mounted jackrabbit (which is actually a hare) and called it a jackalope. There are t-shirts and all sorts of merchandise associated with it. Every now and again, someone, usually intoxicated, will swear they saw a live one. It’s entertaining if nothing else.

It’s the dreaded jackalope native to West Texas that snorts and spits and is feared by all.
