My grandson figured out those lock at his other grandmothers house. Never had them when my kids were little.. but back then we would give the kids a couple of slaps on the hands….also never but anything but pot pans and can goods so they cant get hurt

I have a fridge lock, and it even works on my 10-year-old. Of course, my “fridge lock” is a bike chain and a combination lock since my boys are autism spectrum and will eat pretty much everything in the fridge if it is left unlocked. I will give them food/treats if they will come and ask first, and they are learning to do so.
