Wilberforce: Great-Uncle Hazen Grant died in World War Two, over seventy years ago...
Wilberforce: Do you think he knows that we're here today for him?
Brutus: We're not doing this just for him. We're doing it for us - so we never forget his sacrifice!

I had two uncles go in on D-Day. One was on the Susan B. Anthony troop carrier that was sunk. He was set on the beach in nothing but his skivvies. Both survived the war, but both were greatly affected by it. Their sacrifices will never be forgotten.

The only strip I have seen that puts this day into perspective. Thank you. I agree with Jeff0811, he is not a loser today.

My mother’s baby brother was killed at the Battle Of The Bulge with Patton – just eighteen years old, and I never got to know him. Thankfully, her older brother survived the entire naval war in the Pacific in a destroyer and I have many great memories of him, especially trout fishing (and poker games when I got older).

“Red and Rover” did it for the Sunday strip. In the strip his uncle was KIA, and has been referred to several times
