I don’t intend to play the game, but I am enjoying the stories of the players being absolute morons…breaking into buildings, climbing over barbed wire fences, running in the middle of the highway, etc.
Every cultural phenomenon has its silliness. But it also has its silly detractors. I don’t play, but my wife & adult children do. They’re spending a lot of time outside getting exercise. I’m sitting on my bottom reading comics. Which is sillier?
I wanted to bring everyone up to date on my situation, for the five of you out there that care.
I finally have a diagnosis, or at least a best guess at one. The rheumatologist has decided that since I have every sign of Rheumatoid Arthritis even though I don’t have the blood marker for it, that what I have must be RA and is going to start treating me for it.
In the next couple of weeks I will begin biotherapy for RA. For those who don’t know what this is like, picture chemotherapy but with a biological agent instead of chemicals. The idea is to suppress my immune system enough that it won’t keep attacking my joints and tendons. On top of this I am back on steroids and an increased dosage of methotrexate. With luck this will stop the degeneration from the disease and allow me to function in daily life again.
Thank you to everyone who has supported me in this mess; I will keep you informed the best I can.
Good luck, Pab! I’m also a person with immuno problems, but in my case it’s absence thereof. They may become autoimmune at some point, in which case I’m in for lots of fun treating it.
