If it’s a kid-eating monster, Lucy should have nothing to worry about.

What works for monsters may work for mosquitoes. See, if you hear a mosquito buzzing in the dark at night, it’ll drive you crazy worrying that you’re going to get bitten..But it’s only the male mosquitoes that buzz, to attract a mate. The females are mute..And only female mosquitoes bite warm-blooded creatures like you and me, because they need the blood as a warm incubator fluid for their eggs. Males don’t lay eggs, so they don’t bite..So if you’re lying in bed at night in the dark and hear buzzing, just turn over and go to sleep..But if you hear nothing…..(Better yet, if you hear buzzing and it stops, get up and watch.)

Well the only way you can be sure there’s no monster under the bed is to sleep under the bed yourself.

Are under-bed monsters scarier than the TSA?

As I read this strip, the news is droning on and on about the zika virus in FLA. What hand ringing catastrophe will be next?……

My bed monster and I had an agreement. If my toes were over the edge they were fair game, but if I had to go to the bathroom, there was no biting. On the other hand, my monster keep watch during the night protecting me.

How is it that she communicates with ghosts; aliens with her boy friend; a pixie who wears only pajamas and is transported by mosquitos and butterflies; an carries on with her Lucy, a stuffed horse (don’t tell her, of course). Lets see, did I forget anything?

I was kept awake by a whining mosquito in my room. After turning on the lights and not finding him or her, I tried a different idea: I covered up, only exposing a bit of skin, under a raised finger. The mosquito landed on the skin, and got squished. If only a female would approach warm skin, she sure made a lot of noise.

All the children speak with Lucy. She would talk with adults, but doesn’t have anything to say to them. For the life of me, I don’t know why, after all these years, people keep thinking Lucy is a stuffed animal, no matter how many times it’s pointed out here that she’s NOT, and how many times I work into occassional strips to show she’s a “real” horse, just as Snoopy is a “real” dog and Garfield is a “real” cat.

I used to think there were four monsters under my bed. The one up front, only ate heads, on the right, ate right hands, the left monster ate left hands, the monster at the foot of the bed ate, you guessed it…feet. My parents could never figure out why I slept upside down, with my head under the covers and my feet on my pillow. (And just for the record, never ONCE have I said I had anything resembling a high or even medium IQ!).

As a scientifically inclined girl, she should know that when you have a hypothesis, you must then perform an experiment to try to prove it, so she needs to find a child to dangle over the edge…

Empty out the trash can onto the floor of your room, Danae. As long as none of it gets eaten, well then you’re probably safe? (LOL!)P.S. Lots of luck with Dad! (LOL!)

The reason I don’t fly anymore…they are looking in all the wrong places and can’t seem to find the right places. I refuse to do business with any organization that treats me like that.

So I guess you missed Wiley Miller’s comment much earlier. Here it is again: “Thank you. If you note the copyright, this series (as is the rest of the month) ran 4 years ago. The fears being stoked about imagined “monsters” was running rampant in that election year, and it seemed appropriate to run it again. Nothing changes, it seems. That’s why I chose to use the old monster under the bed theme to set it up.”

Seriously, you are every day, posting multiple threads mostly political. Seriously, do you even read the entirety of people’s posts before you make a snide comment?I’m not sure where I rubbed you wrong, although you have attacked me in the past attributing other people’s posts to me. Rarely acknowledging your mistake, even when gently pointed out. So, perhaps, that is the problem?Other than that, maybe, just maybe, you really need to just relax a bit and realize you are not the comment moderator. As for me,I find it interesting, though yes, sometimes a bit disturbing as to the direction the comments take from what seemed to be a fairly benign cartoon. In that, some of my comments are directed at the comments and not the cartoon itself.
