    5K’s (the running kind) still make me nervous. They’re short but they hurt really bad the whole time if you’re trying to go as fast as you can. In longer races the pain is less acute.

    Googled “stubborn to smooth ratio” and got nothing useful. I am mystified as well. Not by the fact that commenters don’t always get along. Rather, I am mystified by the strip.

    So “His stubborn-to-smooth ratio is still awfully wide” is the same as saying “Frazz is a lousy swimmer?”No wonder I don’t get it either.
