There was a time that I was a terror for the all-you-can-eat places, and I still have the appetite and metabolism to eat like that

My digestive system isn’t as friendly to me about that much food as it used to be

I can’t eat like that but I remember when I was teen, my family went to an all you can eat. After a while, the manager came over and told my parents that we were not allowed to go back and get more food. We already ate “all we can eat”. He told my parents we already ate 6 platefuls and that was the limit. My dad asked us if we had eaten 6 platefuls and my brother said “No.” and after a dramatic pause added “he must have missed one of our trips.”

You know you’re a big eater when they have your picture up at the ‘all-you-can-eat’ buffet with the warning ‘do not serve this person’.

Another buffet about to go out of business. Makes me wonder if the local taxi service has a wide load truck to take Adam home?

When are we going to see Adam taking his insulin shots, or at least testing his blood sugar?

Most “all you can eat” buffets I visited in the past were so dreadful, just a first round was more than my stomach can tolerate. As I sit and try to “enjoy” a meal, I look around and see folks making multiple trips back for additional helpings and shake my head in disgust!

I shake my head not so much in puzzlement over these folks poor dining choice; but because based upon their often morbid appearance I actually feel somewhat sorry for them…
