There should be more of those. Even if we have to build them. I don’t care what they put at the bottom, rocks, stakes sharks.

This is unnatural selection since this is human made and wouldn’t be found in Nature. Narcissism overload in action.

We observe things, as if they were separate from us, but we are separate from nothing…We are all the same blend. We are the air, the air is us…. I like selfies…What took so long? I’ve been doin’ it since the sixties! Why all the hate on selfies? What am I supposed to do? Give my “device” to a total stranger to take our picture and watch him run away with it?..Sorry, it’s my day to be the curmudgeon….

Easily Amused By This said, about 2 hours agoThere is GOOD technology and BAD technology. I would call this BAD technology. It’s ironic that so many dumb people walk around carrying smart phones.-——————————————There is only technology, it is what humans do with it that makes them “bad” or “good”.

I took a picture of myself once; I didn’t have a mirror and wanted to check for food residue after a particularly sloppy meal. Deleted immediately.

Nothing new here! I have a lot of nice photos of myself and family from the 1960’s using a tripod and a timer on my old Nikon. A Much better job of composition too.

    take II :

At least they saved the cost of the “safety” rail. That crowd would have climbed on top of it in order to look even more cool. Of course, the relatives would be suing the city/state/ or whatever owning entity because they didn’t do enough to save the dolts from themselves.

Wiley’s bears are natural, selfies are a form of “selection”. BTW: by definition, if it’s done by humans it’s not " natural". A key identifier is that in nature there are no straight lines, looking around our world today, it IS the straight line that defines the boundary to human from “natural”.

Jefferson said it well in the Declaration of Independence with “laws of NATURE and NATURE’s God”. The Apple was natural, eating it was so “human”.

“Selfie Point” is perhaps the bear’s interpretation of the old “buffalo jump” used by native tribes??

I don’t take selfies. Smart phones are too expensive to replace after I break the camera.
