It’s not “infinite” but very close as in so big a number it might as well be. Billions of stars in our galaxy, and there are billions of galaxies in that. Our sun is rather impressive. And close.
Well unless the family has moved western North Dakota, they haven’t really seen much of the stars. I guess you could run up to Yosimite and see quite a few but from an urban back yard you really don’t see all that much. Too much light from the street lights and business and homes.
I finally got clear weather to see the Persiads this year. The Milky Way was so bright, I had trouble making out constellations I can see easily from inside my house. And I only had to go four miles from my light-fogged house to do it.

More stars than all the pebbles of sand from all the beaches on the planet……. I can’t really fathom that.

I remember my mother trying to explain the concept of an infinite universe and it blew my mind
Still blown

One view of the stars in the firmament on a clear night, is enough to make one realize, how individually insignificant we really are.

What location would this be? Outside of desert areas, there’s just too much light pollution and air pollution to see much more than the moon.
