My mother’s family changed their last name because one of the brothers stole livestock. I’m not sure if it was my Great-Great-Grandfather or his brother.
Side note: I object to putting my DNA “out there” for “Testing”, as we don’t know what else they put in their database, and who else has access to it. Insurance companies could be backing them and using the “voluntary samples” to find out if you have a predisposition toward any certain diseases, etc
