TV was new the first time I heard this joke!

“alphabetical order,” he says… {scoff}

that makes it easier to see if you are on the list.

I’ve reached the point where I scan the obits for the ages of the deceased. If everyone’s older than me, it’s a good day.

I just hope someone bothers to put my obit in the paper. I loved the ones for my grandparents because they went into detail about their lives. Today, every obit looks pretty much the same. "He was born in ___ on ___. the sone of ___ and ___. He married ___. They had ___ children, ___, ___, and ___. They moved to ___ in ___.

Shoot, I’ve had my three score and ten (according to the Bible, that’s all you get) already, turned 74 last week and am planning to see 130 if things work out. MOST people who show up in the obits these days have been shot or OD’d in their 20s.

I always check the obits first thing in the morning. If I’m not listed, and am not named in the Police Reports, then I know it’s a good day.

Earl is one strange duck.

My grandmother called it “a list of people who wouldn’t be riding the streetcars any more”. Guess that tells you how old I am; I can remember street cars.

I don’t lest I find my name among them. You can’t get a correction as I found out when they left my name off the candidate lists and ignored a request for a correction. I got more votes than I expected, but no chance to discuss issues, which was the whole purpose.
