You can request easy-off caps at the pharmacy. They’ll usually ask you to confirm that you know that they’ll not be safe around children, but they are genuinely easy to get off.
Effective tremor can also affect this. Not so much in pain, but the likelihood of getting a twitch at the moment of opening and distributing the contents randomly around the room.
