That’s why the South lost the “War Between the States”. Have you ever heard of a southern lady who was descended from less than a Colonel? Apparently, they didn’t have any troops!
Hey Chief,
The reason so many of our ancestors were Colonels in the Civil War is because they survived the battle and the colonel didn’t so they got promoted. Southern Colonels lead from the front, not the rear.
I am related all around. On my dad’s side I am related to Lee and on my mom’s side, I am related to Grant (by marriage) but both are cousins. My great-great-grandfathers were both privates. I also have a grandfather that was decorated by Black Jack Pershing in WWI and a great uncle who was on FDR’s staff during WWII. My mom’s brothers and sister served in the Navy during WWII and my father was an Air Force Master Sargent in Vietnam (received a Bronze Star & 2 Purple Hearts). We here in the South are proud of our ancestors who protected this country and the rights we enjoy in it so we brag alot.
If they want to make good use of those rocks, I know some houses in Charlie Brown’s neighborhood that are preparing for Halloween. I’m sure they’d be interested in some.
We might be cousins by a long string of marriages. I’m supposedly related to General Lee by marriage too. I used to be proud of that – until I found out that nobody was related to less than a Colonel anyway! :-)

A king, a general, a commander and a soldier. That is all they have to fight the Romans.

Romans? Umm, isn’t this strip supposed to be set in the Middle Ages. Should be the Byzantine Empire maybe.

I thought rocks were the chief export of the Indominable Gauls, and particularly of Obelix, to the Romans.
